This inaugural collection of 20 photographs was made during the years of the COVID pandemic, when the usual rhythms of life were interrupted and many of us were forced to confront both the fragility of human systems and the enduring presence of the natural world. In the quiet of remote trails, high alpine basins, and desert canyons of the American West, the camera became a way of returning to what remains constant - light on rock, the slow melt of snow, the sudden bloom of alpine flowers, the patient verticality of trees. These images mark the beginning of an ongoing series exploring landscapes around the world.
