Photographed in a high meadow outside Pagosa Springs, Colorado, at about 9,000 feet. Large granite boulders rest quietly in the grass, surrounded by forested slopes and distant peaks. Once cast from the mountains, they now seem settled and permanent — quiet evidence of older, more forceful movements in the landscape.
